How do you start your day?
I start the day with a cup of tea and dog walk with Ruby, my working cocker spaniel. We often walk with my boyfriend and his dog to the coffee shop, as I rely on a soya latte to get me motoring in the mornings. Then, back home, shower, dress for the day and into Soho to the office.
What is your fashion philosophy?
By day I am usually either in a dress that takes you day to evening, or jeans and a smart jacket that does the same. A great shoe or boot and bag as well as a great earring can help make the look.
Can you share your top tip?
My trick to feeling good is clean hair, big smile and simple style. To make sure I’m not stuck in a style rut, I get some help from Grace Richmond, who will push me out of my comfort zone for the big occasions like The Fashion Awards.
Who inspires you?
I get inspired by lots of people. My daughter Lana for her go-get-it feisty spirit. My mum for her energy and sense of fun. The designers we work with for their relentless creativity. Edward Enninful for moving the dial so quickly during his tenure at Vogue. Leena Nair at Chanel for her seemingly boundless positive energy. My team for caring so much about the fashion industry and turning up every day to move their needle in their own way.
How do you unwind?
Badly! I love Soul Cycle as a stress release, but I don’t go often enough. So, a bath, listening to music, a massage and, when I can get to the countryside, a walk in the woods or on the beach.
If you could visit anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would it be?
There are still so many places to visit. High on my list are India and Thailand.
Can you tell us something you discovered recently?
Manzi’s Seafood Restaurant in Soho. Feels like it should be by the sea and has great food, drinks and service. We had a CEO dinner in their upstairs room which was relaxed and the conversations flowed!
What is the best part of your job?
Every day is different, and lots of days I feel like we are creating opportunities for British businesses to grow and entrepreneurs to thrive.
Which shoes do you love this season?
The Aga is a classic and I also love the Susie!
