How do you start your day?

I have a 1 ½ year old little girl, so I start the day with 'mama' being called out, quickly falling into a hectic toddler morning trying to get us all out to work and nursery. It's a military operation with lots of coffee involved. I had no idea what parents went through before they got to work. I try to do Fluid Form pilates somehow each morning to keep me sane.

What is your fashion philosophy?

Timeless quality pieces that feel like you. Fun to play with a few trends as they come and go, but overall my wardrobe is quite classic and I buy with the intention of keeping for life (much to my husband's dismay). Also lots of black!

Can you share a styling trick with us?

Add jewellery! Love chunky gold or silver jewellery - it can make a look. Then its the way things fit, I often use a seamstress to get the hem or waist just right. And just have fun with it, I live in East London where anything goes - wear what makes you feel good whether that's clashing colour or big ugly shoes - go for it.

Who inspires you?

Currently mothers - after becoming one, I'm amazed by women and what they manage in business and personal life with children.

How do you unwind?

Pilates, a daytime bath at the weekend, wine...

If you could visit anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would it be?

I've been lucky to travel lots of the world but have never managed to get to Japan. It seems impossible with young children so something to look forward to in the future.

Can you tell us something you discovered recently?

Dr Karen Doherty...

What is the best part of your job?

So many things; the creativity, the people you meet, the places you get to go to... being a stylist is not for the faint hearted but it has incredible rewards.

Which shoes do you love this season?

The Neptune fisherman's sandals, my life calls for flats and these feel like a fresh addition.
